12 June, 2007 -- World Day Against Child Labour 2007 - Focus
Agriculture ranks as one of the three most dangerous work activities, along with mining and construction. 70 percent of all child labourers work in agriculture. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Labor Organization (ILO), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and other partners have agreed to work together not only to raise awareness about this problem but also to take concrete steps and actions to tackle the root causes that contribute to and re-enforce the exploitation of children in agriculture.
