Full Interview: FAO, food safety and what the consumer can do
©FAO/Khatia Gogoladze
25 February 2016--- In episode 2 of TARGET: Zero Hunger the podcast talked a lot about the economic side of food fraud, but there’s one angle that’s extra important to consumers – and that’s food safety. It’s one thing to pay too much for pseudo basmati. It’s another thing to realize there are contaminants and plastics in your food. It’s this side of food fraud that is particularly of interest to Markus Lipp, who’s a food safety officer at FAO who works with the Expert Committee of Food Additives – a joint initiative by FAO and the World Health Organization. FAO Radio’s Sandra Ferrari spoke to him for the podcast.
