The recent developments related to the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) reform offer a significant forum for discussion to a wider range of partners of the UN System, inter-governmental organizations, the civil society and non-governmental organizations, particularly organisations representing smallholder family farmers. The platform allows an exchange of views and experience on the support to the agricultural sector, grassroots assistance to farmers and financing of small and medium-sized enterprises in rural areas as well as policy advice to governments.
