From the Date palm oases of the Maghreb to the Ifugao Rice Terraces (Philippines) through the Chinampa canals of the central valley of Mexico, ingenious agricultural systems under threat must be recognized and protected. The conservation and sustainable use of this unique legacy will be the central theme of an international forum hosted by FAO from 24 to 26 October 2006.
