3 April 2017, Rome--- Fighting in Syria has caused huge damage and losses to agricultural production. But according to a new report released today by the UN’s Food and agriculture Organization, the sector should be kick-started now… as that would dramatically reduce the need for humanitarian aid. This latest report presents the first comprehensive nationwide assessment of the cost of the war to the agriculture sector in Syria.

Neil Marsland, Senior Technical Officer with FAO in Rome, explains more about the situation. (Interview conducted by Sandra Ferrari)
