Communicating to Inspire Change: Dialogue on Nutrition
22 October 2014, Rome--- Do you know that malnutrition is believed to be the underlying cause of death for 2.6 million children annually? A quarter of the children in the world, and a third in developing countries, are ‘small’ or stunted due to lack of nutritious foods - while, around one and a half billion people globally are overweight, with half a billion deemed obese ? Malnutrition could cost as much as $3.5 trillion or $500 per person in lost productivity and health care expenses. The second ‘Dialogue on Nutrition’ led by the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) is organized as part of a series, ahead of the International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2).
