17 February 2015, Rome/Dakar---Through a new agreement involving the government of Guinea, the World Bank and FAO, tens of thousands of people in rural areas of the Guinea will receive training in preventative measures for the Ebola virus. This includes how to prevent the spread of Ebola, but it will also assist in supporting the production of food and generating income. As part of the initiative, the World Bank is providing $5 million to FAO’s Ebola Response Programme which assists rural households.
