The International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture: a major instrument that illustrates this year's WFD Theme "Agriculture and intercultural dialogue" India has played an active role in the process leading to the ratification of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture because it strongly believes in the interdependency of people, countries and cultures towards ensuring an equitable share of resources. Mrs. Radha Singh, Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture visited FAO this year and reiterated her country's commitment to boost international cooperation and dialogue.
