What about the Right to Food?
On the eve of the commemoration of 60 years since the United Nations proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, some rights, like the Right to Food, are overshadowed by those that have received more political and public support, yet severe food insecurity affects at least one-seventh of the world's human population. She recently attended the 34th Annual Session of the UN Standing Committee on Nutrition (SCN), which was hosted at FAO Headquarters by the FAO, WFP, and IFAD with the participation of Bioversity International. In some countries of West Africa and South-East Asia, the nutritional status of women is very poor. What can NGOs do to help restore women's right to food?
