World Summit on Food Security (Rome, 16-18 November 2009)
11 November, 2009 - Heads of State and Government from all over the world will gather in Rome, at FAO Headquarters, to discuss decisive and effective solution to eradicate hunger and poverty in the world. According to Mr Hafez Ghanem (Photo), Assistant Director-General, one of the key issues on the Summit's agenda is the need to increase investments in agriculture for food security. Other important and crucial issues are the world economic and financial crises, global governance, adaptation to climate change and rural development.

"The preparation process involved all member-countries. Debates will include statements by Heads of State and Government as well as roundtable discussions", Hafez Ghanem said in the following interview with FAO Radio:
