Developing an innovative National Forest Inventory in Viet Nam

Viet Nam is using new software developed by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and its partners to conduct a comprehensive forest inventory as part of the country’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions. With tropical deforestation and forest degradation one of the largest sources of emissions caused by humans globally, understanding the value of forest resources and how best to manage them is critical in the fight against climate change.
