South Sudan’s food gap on the rise
The latest FAO/WFP Crop and Food Security Assessment Mission to South Sudan shows a widening of the food gap in a country where fighting is disrupting markets and unfavourable rains have hampered crop yields. Mario Zappacosta, FAO Economist in South Sudan, explains that ending the conflict is crucial to resume production activities and encourage funding.
