Biodiversity Mainstreaming Across Agricultural Sectors
Sustainable agriculture holds the key to safeguarding biodiversity and healthy ecosystems. Recognizing the significance of these interlinkages to the many challenges facing our planet, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development builds on initiatives established in the UN Decade (2011–2020) on Biodiversity in calling for the integration of biodiversity and ecosystem services into national and local planning, development processes, poverty reduction strategies and in promoting access and equitable benefit-sharing from the use of genetic resources.
