When Hurricane Mitch hit Central America in October 1998, FAO set up a series of rapid action projects for agricultural rehabilitation. Distribution of seeds, tools, fertilisers and irrigation equipment, together with assistance in livestock rehabilitation, help farming families get back on their feet.
