South-South Development Expo winds down
Awards for outstanding examples of Southern-led solutions to hunger
9 December 2011, Rome – The 2011 edition of the Global South-South Development Expo comes to a close today in a ceremony at FAO. The Expo is an annual event dedicated to showcasing successful examples of Southern-led solutions to global development challenges, organized by the UN Development Program’s (UNDP) Special Unit for South South Cooperation at different world venues.
This year’s Expo, hosted by FAO, put the spotlight on the global food insecurity situation and looked at examples of South-South cooperation to reduce hunger and poverty.
At the closing ceremony, which starts at 9:00h (Rome time), UNDP will present awards to three projects that exemplify successful South-South cooperation in the areas of partnerships, innovation, and leadership.
