Agricultural disaster impact analyses are based
mainly on empirical ‘in situ’ analysis, largely dependent
on access to the impacted area and expert professional experience.
RADAR refers to a simple and quantitative procedure for a Rapid
Agricultural Disaster Assessment Routine on agriculture. This methodology
introduces precise definitions of variables related to disaster
assessment: it suggests the use of intensity scales for the various
kinds of events and of value scales that match the missions of the
institution performing the assessment.
