Global Framework on Climate Services (GFCS) event in Geneva, Switzerland

Global Agro-Ecological Zones (GAEZ) Data Portal www.fao.org/nr/gaez is presented to the participants in the Global Framework on Climate Services Dialogue Side Event http://www.wmo.int/pages/gfcs/office/Dialogue_SE3.php on FAO - Data, tools and methods for climate information services for food and agriculture.

The event was organized to showcase the wide range of data, tools and methods for the assessment of climate impacts and vulnerabilities, as well as for planning of climate change adaptation practices as related to agriculture and food security, The side event provided an overview of the FAO climate services to support agricultural communities, building on the existing national, regional and international collaborations. GAEZ data portal products, capabilities, analytical tools and reporting functionality were presented to the side event participants. The event contributed to increase the visibility and outreach of the GAEZ data portal as well as to the FAO data, tools and methods for climate information services for food and agriculture.
