Instructions:

Extract the zip file and copy the firms-wms XML document and the fires.png file to:

($installation directory)\Config\Earth

For example, in Windows, the default path set for NASA World Wind Version 1.4 is:

C:\Program Files\NASA\World Wind 1.4\Config\Earth

Open NASA World Wind and click on the "FIRMS Hotspots - Past 48 Hours" icon in the tool bar to see the active fire/hotspot detections.
