In the context of FAO support to national fire programmes, active fires data from GFIMS have been processed to generate maps, aggregated statistics, and correlation of fires incidence with land cover.
GFIMS has provided archived collection 5 active fire data from November 2000 to date. Using spatial overlay techniques, fires were aggregated monthly by administrative unit, and also aggregated by land cover type. Tables, charts and maps were generated as output products.
