Technologies and practices for small agricultural producers (TECA)

TECA is a web-based platform for documenting and sharing sustainable technologies and practices to help small agricultural producers in the field.

TECA combines an internet based Knowledge Base where users can find practical information on agricultural technologies and practices with a forum for interaction and joint learning (Exchange Groups) between various actors of the agricultural innovation systems.

TECA's goal is to make information available to smallholders to improve the production and protection of plants and animals (including fish) and to better manage natural resources, while adapting to climate change and reducing risks of natural disasters. In addition, TECA is designed to improve the nutrition from agriculture and to allow smallholders and other users to better access markets. Apart from small agricultural producers, users include professionals from rural extension and advisory services, producer organizations, NGOs, research organizations, universities, and the private sector.

TECA partners include a wide range of organizations that wish to increase the visibility and outreach of their work by sharing practices on TECA, or by facilitating or contributing to online discussions. Organizations also use TECA content to identify sustainable practices for their extension activities with small producers.
