Update on FAO's Email Conference

The FAO email conference "Agricultural Innovation Systems and Family Farming" is approaching the halfway point, and thus far it has been an overwhelming success. About 550 users have subscribed to the conference with 104 contributions from 67 people. Messages have come from 33 different countries, over 80% of which have been from developing countries and over 50% from Africa. Messages have come from people working in a variety of fields including research organizations, NGOs, universities, governments, the private sector and from FAO itself.

The diversity of perspectives from different countries and different fields of work has contributed to a robust array of topics relating to agricultural innovation in family farming, ranging from tapping the potential of local innovations to gender issues in small-scale farming. With such great interest in the conference so far, we look forward to a continued exchange of perspectives on agricultural innovation systems and family farming.

The email conference will be held until 1st July. All messages posted during the conference are available here.
