We are looking for best practices in reducing the environmental impact of food loss and waste and create multiple goods and services to humanity. Our aim is to document practical knowledge of the issue of food waste reduction and eradication for policy makers, consumers, company leaders and other stakeholders. Our ultimate objective is to create a Good Guide on reducing the environmental footprint of food wastage. If you know any practices that meet the requirements listed below, we invite you to share these with us. Your contributions will be featured on this website. We are looking for best practices that: Document practices of prevention and/or reduction of food loss and waste; Cover any stage of the food chain, from production, through processing to final consumption and waste treatment; Relate to both physical interventions (e.g. infrastructure or processing designs) or governance and management arrangements (e.g. policies, processes, instruments, partnerships or incentives); Require modest capital investments and rely on technologies and managerial set-ups that can be implemented with limited resources; Involve citizens in planning, implementation and/or operation of the practice; Are holistic in outlook, that is, have multiple benefits on the environment and/or on society; Aim at preventing and/or eliminating food waste/loss, not merely reducing it.
