Key features of livestock farming system
In landless livestock keeping animals are mostly kept in an enclosure while commercial landless systems are medium and large-scale. Pastoral farming employs natural pastures, wood-pastures and sown grasslands for livestock feeding. Commercial pastoral livestock keeping can also have a high share of animal feed from pastures. Nomadic pastoralism involves herding in order to find new pastures. Organic agriculture enhances agro-ecosystem health, biodiversity and biological cycles. Biodynamic agriculture involves spiritual-ethical-ecological approach to agriculture while permaculture strives to create regenerative agricultural practices following diversity, stability and resilience of natural ecosystems.

Key practices implemented to improve sustainability of livestock management
Please describe what practices/management/actions in livestock operations are improving animal health and welfare, optimizing land use for grazing and other activities and have positive impacts on the environment. Examples of successful practices can include changing of animal diets, improving grazing strategies and use of available land (e.g. crop and livestock or silvopastoral activities), improving veterinary control and optimizing resources use/infrastructure on the farm.

Key impacts of the best practices on sustainability of farming system
Please indicate the best practices and if possible describe how they have affected environmental integrity of the farming system. Examples in three major features of sustainability can include the following. In terms of impacts on environment: changes in vegetation and associated biodiversity (such as occurrence of different butterfly, bird, insect, amphibian species), water quality in adjacent water bodies, land and soil quality, land use and land cover; better animal health and welfare: less stress of animals, , better quality of livestock products through improving livestock diets. Other changes may include yield and income increases, better social and labour conditions for livestock keepers, etc.
