El Programa de apoyo a los modos de vida Sostenibles (LSP) es un proyecto (GCP/INT/803/RU), financiado por DFID, para mejorar el impacto de las intervenciones a nivel nacional a través de la aplicación de procedimientos de medios de vida sostenibles. El subprograma Acceso a los recursos naturales está dirigido al uso de los procedimientos de medios de vida sostenibles para mejorar el acceso de la población pobre a los bienes naturales.
Los documentos de trabajo sobre el Empoderamiento Jurídico de los Pobres (LEP - Legal Empowerment of the Poor)
Con la estrategia corporativa de la FAO sobre los medios de vida rurales sostenibles y el acceso más equitativo a los recursos y con la donación financiera de Noruega (FNOP/INT/108/NOR), se iniciaron las actividades para mejorar la seguridad de la tierra de la población rural pobre para cubrir las necesidades de los países miembros de la FAO y apoyar la Comisión sobre la obtención del poder legal de la población pobre (LEP). El trabajo se centró en el África subsahariana.

| IMPLEMENTING RESPONSIBLE GOVERNANCE OF TENURE |
Land Tenure Working Paper 21. This paper draws on proceedings of a meeting held to discuss the impact of growing private sector investments in land, fisheries and forests. This meeting, aimed at the private sector, took place at FAO headquarters on 28 February and 1 March 2011. The purpose of this paper is to provide a record of the discussion from the private sector perspective. The first section provides the context which led to the workshop concept. Section two discusses the investment environment in the context of access to land, fisheries and forests and identifies the main drivers behind investment. Section three seeks to identify ways of finding common ground between conflicting goals and interests in order to promote responsible investment. Section four provides a conclusion to the discussion and makes suggestions for the way forward by building on the findings of the workshop. |

| LECCIONES APRENDIDAS EN ALGUNOS PAÍSES |
Documento de trabajo sobre la tenencia de la tierra 20. Este documento analiza las características del régimen comunal y su función en el sistema de gestión de los recursos naturales en diferentes contextos de algunos países asiáticos. Las presiones actuales del mercado sobre los recursos naturales suponen ya sea desafíos que oportunidades para que las comunidades y los gobiernos utilicen y refuerzen el régimen comunal para promover la gestión sostenible de algunos recursos naturales. En conjunto, se necesitan políticas e instituciones que promuevan la responsabilidad y la buen gobernanza de estos recursos, por parte de los gobiernos, a nivel nacional y local, y las comunidades. Asimismo, el régimen comunal probablemente desempeñará una función muy significativa en las políticas y acciones relacionadas con la mitigación del cambio climático (REDD y REDD+) |

Documento de trabajo sobre la tenencia de la tierra 19. Este documento se enmarca dentro de la consulta global de las Directrices Voluntarias y su proceso de desarrollo y es una aportación para la preparación posterior de la Guía Técnica de Género. En él se contextualiza y se define el concepto de género en las Directrices Voluntarias, se trata el significado de gobernanza de tenencia desde la perspectiva de género y se identifican y analizan los temas y aspectos claves. Por último, se resumen las recomendaciones pertinentes al género antes de exponer algunas conclusiones para el proceso de desarrollo de las Directrices Voluntarias. |

Documento de trabajo sobre la tenencia de la tierra 18. Presenta los principales temas para caracterizar la gobernanza en la tenencia de la tierra y analiza los aspectos relacionados con la evolución de las problemáticas de política agraria en los diferentes países de América Central. Además, ofrece algunos ejemplos y lecciones aprendidas derivadas de los nuevos modelos de administración y mecanismos de acceso a la tierra que los gobiernos centroamericanos y la cooperación internacional han promovido en los últimos quince años en la Región. |
