Global Map of Irrigation Areas

Belize

For Belize no information could be found on irrigated areas on sub-national level. According to AQUASTAT there are about 3 000 ha equipped for irrigation [BZ01]. The figure refers to 1997. The irrigated area has been distributed to a rice irrigation area as indicated on the CIAT-map [BZ02] and to some cultivated areas in the more dry northern part of the country [BZ03].
