© FAO Giulio NapolitanoAgricultural drainage management and water quality improvement are at the core of our water quality programme.

Water development and management needs are focused on drainage of irrigated land to reduce waterlogging and soil salinization, conserve water by safe reuse of treated wastewater and mitigate health hazards related to water pollution and water resources development.

We also aim at improving agricultural water management to attain a level of quality that is appropriate for different uses. The programme also endeavours to help build and strengthen data on treated wastewater reuse, water quality, and sharing of information and dialogues among stakeholders.
