Capacity development

As part of its work in the area of food-based dietary guidelines, FAO provides several capacity development opportunities to countries, including training workshops, technical consultations and regional meetings. 

In 2016, FAO led a series of regional workshops to encourage and assist Member Countries in developing their own food-based dietary guidelines and implementing them across multiple sectors and levels, including health and agricultural policies and nutrition education programs.
