Food-based dietary guidelines



This section provides information about food-based dietary guidelines and food guides from sub-Saharan Africa.

In 2014, three countries in sub-Saharan Africa reported having dietary guidelines. Considering the increasing double burden of malnutrition in the region, more countries deem it necessary to develop dietary guidelines to inform and educate consumers to make good food choices that will lead to the consumption of healthy diets.

We invite governments to send us their new or revised dietary guidelines and to notify updates on the information pertaining to their countries.
