Purpose and intended outcome


The Digital Preservation workshop provides a general overview of digital preservation issues. Participants will be exposed to the following topics:

  • The concepts, goals, strategies, and tools of long-term digital preservation.
  • Representative digital preservation activities and practices at the California Digital Library (CDL), Portico, and Stanford University.
  • The role of characterization in digital curation and preservation workflows. An overview of the JHOVE2 project: requirements, methodology, and deliverables.
