The first two days of the workshop will be dedicated to a general overview of digital preservation issues, while the second part of the event will provide an intensive introduction to the concepts, deployment, and use of the next-generation JHOVE2 characterization framework and application. More information on JHOVE2 is available here.

By the end of this four day workshop, participants will have a general understanding of digital preservation concepts, goals, and practices and a thorough knowledge of JHOVE2’s capabilities and architecture; its potential roles in local workflows; how to install, configure and run the tool; and how to extend and contribute to its open source code base.
