Association Tefy Saina

Henri De Laulanié est le premier agronome qui a découvert le Système de Riziculture Intensive (S.R.I.). Le Système de Riziculture Intensive ou SRI valorise aujourd’hui la riziculture à 300%. Une démarche naturelle qui remet en cause l’agronomie conventionnelle. Tefy Saina est l’association paysanne qui perpétue l’œuvre de Henri de Laulanié. L’association Tefy Saina se donne pour principale mission la formation des jeunes paysans.

Associazione Italiana per L’Agricoltura Biologica (AIAB)

AIAB aims to promote organic farming.  It acts as a bridge between farmers and the research community and works to direct research towards areas that are useful to farmers.  The Associazione developed a standard for organic bio-ecological holiday farms to guide farmers in a sustainable way to organize and manage specific tourist services in rural areas.  In addition, AIAB has developed an agritourism rating system to assist consumers in identifying properties to visit.  AIAB’s webpage is only available in Italian.

The Biological Farming Association "Elkana" is a Georgian association interested in the development of organic farming in the country, as well as the protection of the environment. Centre National de Ressources en Agriculture Biologique (ABioDoc)

ABioDoc a pour missions la veille, la collecte, le traitement et la diffusion d’informations concernant les domaines techniques, économiques ou réglementaires en agriculture biologique et en agriculture durable, ainsi que les aspects environnementaux et sociaux. Il propose plusieurs services destinés à tout public. ABioDoc travaille en partenariat avec l’ensemble de la filière «agriculture biologique» de la production à la distribution, avec un rôle prépondérant dans les domaines de la recherche, de la formation et du développement. Avec plus de 17000 références c'est la plus importante base de données française sur l'agriculture biologique.

Cooperativa Agricola Nuovo Cilento

Nuovo Cilento is an Italian cooperative producing organic olive oil.  It promotes consumer awareness of the health benefits of olive oil.  It also organises holidays at its farms and provides tasting of typical Mediterranean cuisine.  The Cooperative hosts the Gastronomic Research Laboratory with organic production and processing and reintroduction of traditional varieties.

Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS), Aberystwyth University

IBERS has long been involved with research on the socio-economic and policy aspects of organic systems.  Research topics in organic farming include the development of policy support, rural development, standards, farm income, costs of production, marketing and conversion to organic farming. Current work is aimed at measuring the environmental, social and cultural benefits that derive from farming remote upland and hilly areas across Europe, including the conservation of biodiversity and economic opportunities from agritourism. IBERS has previously conducted robust research on the marketing of organic foods in Europe.  In addition to socio-economic and policy research on organics, IBERS has a division dedicated to finding practical solutions to the mitigation of climate change including the development of high yielding energy crops.

University of California Small Farm Program

The Small Farm Program develops field and marketing research relevant to small- and moderate-scale farmers and then works to disseminate the information.  It is not focused exclusively on organics, but conducts much work in the area.  The Program has written several publications of interest to organic researchers, farmers and policy makers that are available on the website.  These include research briefs on developing agricultural tourism; a guide called Postharvest Handling of Organic Crops; and a comprehensive seven-publication set on organic vegetable production.
