Title: Organic Agriculture in Montenegro: Concerted Support for Small-Scale Growers in Organic Agriculture

Objective: 

The Government of Montenegro has requested FAO’s technical assistance to enhance the institutional framework necessary to promote and develop organic agriculture as well as the expertise of the extension services, certification bodies and farmers.

The main outputs of the project include:

• certification system and human resource capacities strengthened;
• extension workers’ capacity in organic agriculture strengthened;
• producers capacity and skills in organic agriculture of selected organic grower’s associations strengthened;
• market strategy to increase awareness and promotion of organic agriculture products formulated and implemented;
• plan of action for the organic agriculture development produced.
