Programme Against African Trypanosomosis (PAAT)

Capacity development

Developing institutional capacity in trypanosomosis-affected countries for more effective field interventions is one of PAAT’s pillars. Training courses and workshops range over trypanosomosis control, field data collection, data management and mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). All capacity development activities are carried out in close collaboration with PAAT members and partners, most notably WHO, IAEA and AU-PATTEC, as well as with the involvement of experts in endemic countries. Efforts are made to ensure a gender-balance participation in all training activities.
