FAO and the Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD) organized a special session with students from different regions of the world on the occasion of the International Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition to identify and convey key messages from the student community to policy and decision makers. 

In preparation for the event, these universities hosted ‘webinars’ in their premises on 1 December 2016 to follow the Opening Session of the Symposium and gather inputs from students which have been presented during the Student Interactive Session.

Students representatives were present at the student session in Rome for a discussion with a panel of eminent personalities. The participating universities: University of Sao Paolo, Brazil; University of Ghana, Ghana; Chouaib Doukkali, University Morocco; Mahidol University, Thailand; Oslo-Akershus University College of Applied Sciences, Norway; Tufts University, USA; Università degli Studi di Roma Tre, Italy and University of GENT, Belgium.
