ФАО посредством своих технических подразделений, региональных и страновых отделений организует множество мероприятий и семинаров по широкому кругу вопросов совместно с университетами, национальными сельскохозяйственными научно-исследовательскими институтами и Консультативной группой по международным сельскохозяйственным исследованиям (КГМСХИ). Данные мероприятия, указанные ниже, подчеркивают растущую важность участия научных кругов в деятельности ФАО по всему миру.

Contract farming is often cited as an example of inclusive business models. Yet, the evidence supporting this claim is still insufficient. Can we ensure that contract farming schemes are really inclusive? How can we avoid small-scale producers finding themselves at the losing end of unequal power relations with agribusinesses? The Sam Moyo African Institute for Agrarian Studies (SMAIAS) and FAO will organise the “International Symposium on Contract Farming and Other Inclusive Business Models” seeking to address these major issues, while gathering evidence on contract farming schemes and inclusive business models in the Global South. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO) in partnership with the Sam Moyo African Institute for Agrarian Studies (SMAIAS) will organize a Policy Dialogue Workshop on “Sustainable Development Goals and Agrarian Transformations in the Global South: Trends and Opportunities” on 23-27 October 2017 in Harare, Zimbabwe. FAO has recently resumed its Internship Programme which targets talented students or recent graduates who are strongly motivated to share their new perspectives, innovative ideas and latest research experience in FAO’s domains of work. The program aims to expand internship opportunities in FAO’s decentralized offices and attract more candidates from the Global South and indigenous youth. In commemoration of the one-year anniversary of their partnership agreement, Kyoto University and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) are organizing the International Symposium on the “Impact of Climate Change on Food and Agriculture”.
