2016: The Rome Declaration: ten steps to responsible inland fisheries
Name of the institution: Mississippi State University
Description: FAO and the Mississippi State University started their collaboration in 2010 with the objective to enhance the capacity of developing countries in managing animal and veterinary public health, plant health, and food and nutrition security.
Since the establishment of the partnership the exchange of resources and the implementation of capacity development activities contributed to strengthening policies and national action plans.
Further key achievements include the successful exchange of knowledge in antimicrobial resistance, the development of awareness-raising and support to aquaculture biosecurity, and the participation of Mississippi State University students in internship programmes to prepare them to become future food security practitioners.

Description: The Natural Resources Institute Finland - LUKE and FAO signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2018 to enhance food security, sustainable forestry, climate change mitigation and adaptation. The collaboration has bolstered technical capacities on forest assessments in Ethiopia and Myanmar by contributing to national forest policies.

Description: In 2017, FAO and the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) entered into a partnership to strengthen capacities in the fields of food security and nutrition, sustainable agricultural and food systems, to reduce rural poverty, and with the overall objective to contribute in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa
During the years, the partnership allowed RUFORUM member universities to increase knowledge and uptake of the innovative approaches and methods while improving their visibility and relevance.
At the students level the collaboration allowed to improve students’ skills and knowledge on traditional agricultural practices.
