Workshop on the role of FAO and Civil Society to translate the Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (CFS-RAI) into action

04/07/2016 - 05/07/2016
FAO Headquarters, Rome

The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) endorsed in October 2014 the Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (CFS-RAI), after a two-year multi-stakeholder consultation and negotiation process. FAO is now in the process of designing an umbrella programme to support all stakeholders in translating the principles into concrete actions. In the spirit of the CFS-RAI, views of all stakeholders are put at the centre of the development of the umbrella programme

The Office for Partnerships, Advocacy and Capacity Development (OPC) organizes a High-Level Workshop on the role of FAO and CSOs in implementing the CFS Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (CFS-RAI), to be held on 4-5 July 2016.

The first part of the event will be dedicated to discuss FAO’s initiative to convert the CFS-RAI principles into concrete action. CSOs will have the opportunity to provide their input for the way forward on RAI implementation. In the second part a capacity assessment has been organized to identify the needs of the stakeholders in the area of responsible investment in agriculture and food systems.

A more detailed description and agenda about the two-day meeting will be issued. Participation is subject to direct invitation from FAO.
