This report informs resource partners about the work carried out by FAO, through funding from the FAO Multipartner Mechanism Support (FMM), including results achieved, challenges faced, and key lessons learned during the reporting period (2014-17). Launched in 2013, the Africa Solidarity Trust Fund (ASTF) is a unique financing mechanism that pools resources from African countries to support critical national and regional initiatives on food and agriculture. It is one of the most successful stories of Africa’s partnership with FAO. Its main goal is to assist countries to eradicate hunger and malnutrition, eliminate rural poverty and manage natural resources in a sustainable manner.
