Countries in Africa have made renewed commitments to end hunger, such as in the Malabo Declaration of 2014, the SDGs of 2016 and other international and regional declarations. If these are supported by effective legislation, including constitutional protection, the future economic, social and cultural benefit to the continent is evident. This series of legal briefs, designed for parliamentarians in Africa, addresses topics such as the right to adequate food, legislating for food and nutrition in schools, governance of tenure, responsible investment in agriculture and food systems, improving nutrition and eradicating rural poverty.
