CFS 42 - Committee on World Food Security
The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) was set up in 1974 and reformed in 2009 to be the most inclusive intergovernmental forum for stakeholders to work together in ensuring food security and nutrition for all. The Committee reports annually to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).
CFS is made up of Members, Participants and Observers Participants can be from representatives of UN agencies and bodies, civil society organizations, international agricultural research systems, international and regional financial institutions and private sector associations and philanthropic foundations. CFS may invite other interested organizations relevant to its work to observe entire sessions or specific agenda items.

Photo ID requirements
It is mandatory to upload a photo ID fulfilling the following requirements:
- Plain white background.
- Full face frontal view with open eyes.
- No shadows on the face or in the background.
- Recent. Maximum 6 months old.
- Size: 24 mm (width) x 32 mm (height) or 195 pixels (width) x 255 pixels (height).
- Accepted formats: gif, jpg, jpeg
- Weight: Maximum 500kb
Passport copy requirements
It is mandatory to upload a passport copy fulfilling the following requirements:
- Accepted formats: pdf, gif, jpg, jpeg.
- Weight: Maximum 500kb
Please note that:
- Deadline for expression of interest 23.59 Rome time on 4 October 2015
- For expressions of interest for CFS 42 submitted before 1 September 2015, approval emails will be sent out between 2-4 September 2015
- For those submitted after 1 September 2015, approval emails will be sent out between 21-23 September 2015
- CFS does not fund participation.
- Space at the session is limited.
- In principle and as per space limitations, one representative per Civil Society Organization will be considered.
- Priority will be given to those CSOs and private sector entities already participating in the ongoing work of the CFS, particularly through the CSM and PSM.
