Republic of the Philippines - virtual mode

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is implementing the “Capacity Development and Experience Sharing for Rice Value Chains through South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC)” project, kindly funded by the Republic of Korea (MAFRA). The project aims at improving capacity of the three participating countries: the United Republic of Tanzania, Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, and Republic of the Philippines to develop competitive and inclusive rice value chains.

FAO, in collaboration with the Republic of Korea, is organizing the inception workshop of the project, which will be held in virtual mode due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The objectives of this Inception workshop are to:

(1) determine the synergies with ongoing relevant work in the country;

(2) share information regarding existing rice sector policies;

(3) identify strategies and value chain studies and determine needs/gaps of the country which can be addressed through this project; and

(4) fine-tune key aspects of the work plan in line with the country context.
