The Brazil Africa Institute (IBRAF) will hold, next Friday, May 29, the webinar “Youth Empowerment and the Promotion of Rural Communities Sustainability”. The dialogue will focus on topics such as ensuring access to tools for young people to lead the transformation of the region, and practices to promote sustainability in rural communities, especially the most vulnerable. Have you ever thought that changes in the way your tea is produced could be beneficial to the changing climate? A new FAO project in Kenya is about to do just that by developing the production of potentially carbon neutral tea. It's the first FAO project within framework of South-South and Triangular Cooperation to address both climate change mitigation and adaptation in a food value chain.

15 May 2020, Rome - FAO Director-General QU Dongyu today offered his best wishes to Ambassador Esti Andayani, Permanent Representative of Indonesia to FAO, who took over the chair of the Rome chapter of The Group of 77 and China at the United Nations. The Director-General also noted that South-South Cooperation and Triangular Cooperation are important and successful tools, highlighting how they allow for the sharing of experience and knowledge, as well as the building of partnerships that can generate deliverable results. “We will definitely strengthen them,” he said.
