04/11/2021 Colombo – A project to provide technical assistance to improve the production and commercialization of fruit value-chains in Sri Lanka has been launched by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture with financial assistance from the People’s Republic of China. The project, valued at over USD 1.1 million is implemented under the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Tripartite Agreement between FAO, the People’s Republic of China and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

The FAO signed collaboration agreements with the Polytechnic University of Turin (POLITO), Italy; the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), Hungary; the University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice (FFPW USB), Czechia; and the Shota Meskhia State Teaching University of Zugdidi (SMSTU), Georgia.
