La Asamblea General de Uruguay aprobó de forma únanime una moción por la que se crea el capítulo nacional del Frente Parlamentario contra el Hambre.    A diferencia de otros países, el nuevo Frente uruguayo será reconocido formalmente como una Comisión Especial de Derecho a la Alimentación, compuesta por 15 miembros, cinco Senadores y 10 Diputados de todos los partidos con representación parlamentaria.    El objetivo del Frente uruguayo será asesorar al Poder Legislativo sobre Derecho a la Alimentación y proponer medidas concretas a desarrollar en la materia, con enfoque de género.
