15 May 2020, Rome - FAO Director-General QU Dongyu today offered his best wishes to Ambassador Esti Andayani, Permanent Representative of Indonesia to FAO, who took over the chair of the Rome chapter of The Group of 77 and China at the United Nations. The Director-General also noted that South-South Cooperation and Triangular Cooperation are important and successful tools, highlighting how they allow for the sharing of experience and knowledge, as well as the building of partnerships that can generate deliverable results. “We will definitely strengthen them,” he said.

Rome - FAO currently has more than seventy partnerships with academia and research institutions worldwide, which help the Organization to provide the next generation with the tools and knowledge needed to create a more sustainable future. A delegation of ten people led by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (MAEP) went to Mahitsy on April 23, 2020 to inspect the cultivated hybrid rice on a 40 hectare plot, which will be harvested at the end of April. The first sowing of Weichu 902-3 hybrid rice specie was carried out in December 2019. The seeds were produced by the Yuan Madagascar company and supplied by the South-South Cooperation (SSC) project launched in Madagascar since October 2019.
