On 22 December, an introductory meeting was held over lunch between key members of the FAO Parliamentarian Friendship League and the FAO National Goodwill Ambassadors, Mr. Katsuhiro Nakamura and Ms. Hiroko Kuniya. The purpose of the meeting was to establish a good foundation for their collaborative effort and synergies in support for FAO’s work. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Pan-African Parliament have launched a partnership to improve legislation of food and nutrition security issues in Africa. The two -year project aims at enhancing the technical capacities of the Pan-African Parliament and the Pan-African Parliamentary Alliance on Food Security and Nutrition (PAPA-FSN).
