The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Resource Partners held strategic discussions last Friday on the next phase of the Flexible Multi-partner Mechanism (FMM), FAO’s main pooled programmatic funding instrument for development work that allows the Organization to quickly direct flexible resources where and when it’s most needed.

On 25 November 2021, FAO and the Government of Australia signed a new USD 1 009 710 (equal to AUD 1 300 000) agreement to support the Flexible Multi-Partner Mechanism (FMM), FAO’s main fund for channelling and managing less-earmarked resources to strengthen the achievement of the Organization’s Strategic Objectives.

In the first week of October 2021, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Tanzania, organized a workshop for Farmers and Forest Producers Organizations (FFPOs) in Tanzania. This workshop was part of the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) project of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

On 9 December 2021, the Flexible Multi-Partner Mechanism (FMM) launched FAO’s first-ever digital field trip targeted towards FMM Resource Partners - Belgium, Flanders, France, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. The virtual experience brought resource partners closer to the life-changing initiatives and real-world impact that they support through the FMM.
