BSF Factsheets - Second Cycle

The Benefit-sharing Fund projects are helping ensure sustainable food security by assisting farmers to adapt to climate change through a series of high impact activities on the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture (PGRFA) across Asia, Africa, Near East and Central and South America. The Treaty’s executing agencies have adopted multi-sectoral, participatory and gender sensitive approaches, resulting in the involvement of civil society organizations, NGOs, universities, genebanks, research institutions, rural community groups and producers’ organizations throughout project implementation.

This section provides a general description of the projects approved in the second cycle of the Benefit-sharing Fund, their overall objectives, activities and approaches as well as an update of the progress made during this first year of implementation.
