Dig deeper into The State of Agricultural Commodity Markets 2020

This year’s report on The State of Agricultural Commodity Markets (SOCO) comes at a crucial juncture for the global economy and food systems, exploring the role of markets in sustainable development as we face major disruptions to the global food system from COVID-19, climate change and more. To cater to readers interested in the in-depth analysis underpinning the report, its release is accompanied by the publication of nine background papers.

Commissioned by FAO to inform the writing of SOCO 2020, these papers cover major topics from the report, including trends in global value chains, the relationship of consumption patterns and food diversity to trade, as well as innovative business models for small farmer inclusion, providing solid data and policy analysis.  All the papers can be accessed here.
