The International Year of Pulses comic strip for kids

Learning about pulses just got a whole lot more fun! Today FAO releases a new educational comic strip that introduces children to the many benefits of pulses.

This two-page, full colour booklet tells the story of two children and their grandmother as they learn about the history of pulses, as well as their nutritional benefits and fun ways to cook them. The back pages feature a delicious, kid-friendly fava bean recipe.

The pulses comic strip is suitable for both inside and outside the classroom. For teachers, it can be a creative way to incorporate pulses into larger discussions or lessons about nutrition and healthy diets.

Parents can also use the comic strip to get children excited about eating pulses, and to involve them in cooking new pulses-based dishes.

Children of all ages can learn from the comic strip and prepare the included recipe under adult supervision.
